These Terms of Use apply to bluebrassarchive.com and the material published as The Blue Brass Archive. By using the Website, you agree to use it lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with the Website or the rights of others.

1. Nature of the Archive

The Blue Brass Archive is an artistic and editorial project. It presents speculative design, alternative history and documented historical reference under distinct labels.

A fictional archive reference, date, designer, workshop, provenance, advertisement or institutional record is part of the creative work unless the relevant page expressly identifies it as historical evidence. The Website should not be cited as proof that a speculative object or alternative event existed.

2. No engineering or safety instructions

Decorative projections, sections, mechanism views and patent-style plates are artistic illustrations. They are not working plans, fabrication drawings, structural calculations, pressure specifications, electrical instructions or safety certification.

Do not construct, operate or modify a machine, building, electrical device, pressure vessel, weapon or other potentially hazardous object in reliance on an Archive illustration.

3. Permitted use

You may browse the Website, link to public pages and make ordinary personal use of the material. Brief quotation for criticism, review, scholarship or news reporting may be permitted by applicable law when the source is properly identified.

You may not, without permission or another valid legal basis:

  • republish substantial articles or image collections;
  • sell, license or commercially exploit Archive material;
  • remove credits, labels or notices that distinguish fiction from historical reference;
  • use automated access in a way that burdens, disrupts or attempts to bypass the Website’s security;
  • present an Archive design as an authenticated antique, genuine patent or verified historical document.

4. Rights in content

Unless otherwise stated, original text, art direction, catalogue structure, selection, layout and project-specific imagery are published by The Blue Brass Archive. Historical source material, quotations, trademarks and third-party works remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

Archive imagery may be produced or refined with digital and generative tools under editorial direction. No claim is made to rights that cannot lawfully be held, and the use of third-party historical references does not transfer their ownership to the Archive.

5. Corrections and rights notices

Good-faith corrections and properly supported rights notices are welcome. Identify the relevant page or image and provide enough information for the issue to be reviewed through the Contact page.

6. External links

Links to museums, archives, publications and other external services are provided for context. The Archive does not control their availability, security, accuracy or privacy practices.

7. Availability and liability

The Website is provided on an “as available” basis. Reasonable care is taken with editorial distinctions and sourced historical claims, but errors, interruptions and later corrections remain possible.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Website or reliance on fictional, artistic or general editorial material. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without removing any mandatory rights that applicable law gives a user in another jurisdiction.

9. Changes

The Terms may be updated as the Archive adds new functions or publication formats. The date at the top identifies the current published version.
